The Fiji Trades Union Congress was represented by its executive officer, Jotika Sharma at the Pacific Labour Mobility Annual Meeting (PLMAM) 2024 in Brisbane, Australia.
The four-day meeting got underway on Monday and ended yesterday (November 14).
The PALM is provided in the PACER Plus Arrangement on Labour Mobility as a mechanism to advance regional labour mobility cooperation.
PACER Plus is the Pacific Agreement on Closer Economic Relations.
The theme for the PLMAM 2024 was “Collectively Building Resilience”, raising the importance of regional cooperation to build the resilience of labour mobility in the Pacific.
Framed by the theme, the four-day meeting provided opportunities for deliberation by key labour mobility stakeholders on tangible measures to build the resilience of Pacific labour mobility schemes.
